DARBY

Hi Doris,
Just wanted to give you an update on how Darby's been doing. When we first brought him home he was a bit nervous from seeing our 2 cats. He wasn't quite sure what they were and wanted nothing to do with them. But after a couple hours he decided they were ok and now whenever he gets a chance he pounces on our smaller cat Jack wanting to play with him. He gets along excellent with our older dog Kacey. He loves to sleep on her, it's so cute. When we put him outside to play in the backyard, his favorite thing to do is run, and he's a pretty fast runner. He also loves jumping, if we take one of his chew toys and throw it he goes running for it and catches it mid-air. We tried taking him swimming but he did not like it that much. He just wants nothing to do with water right now but hopefully he learns to love it. Everyone who sees him falls in love with him, saying how beautiful he is and how old is he, and where did we get him. He's such a calm little guy, so the first day we heard him bark it startled us. But he's very friendly and lets anyone really pet him. We are just so happy to have him and love him, and I can't thank you enough for him.

Hi Doris,

I was recently out taking pictures of Darby. He is growing so fast. When I look at the pictures of him at 9 weeks I can't believe he was ever that small. He is beginning to lose some baby teeth and is tearing through all his toys like Jack the ripper lol. His favorite toy we found out is the tennis balls we bought him, he will chase them forever and loves it when we throw them in the backyard so he can chase them. It's funny to watch him run because instead of just running after the ball like a normal dog, he begins to bounce as he runs, making him look like a giant bunny rabbit. We also find it funny when he lays down and his back legs stick out like turkey legs :).He gets along great with the cats still and is already taller than our older shetland sheepdog. He still loves jumping and we are trying to teach him how to catch things mid-air. So far it's a no go, but hopefully he picks it up. He's so smart as well, he already knows: sit, lay down, speak, bedtime, and jump. His favorite thing to do right now is chew bones none stop, possibly due to his teething. He's also getting ready to go visit the vet.

Darby with is new Momma Sarah :) Who loves him very much as you can clearly see. Sarah was very patient waiting for this little guy to be born and be her new baby. She always gets compliments on him! XO <3
